Amsterdam Marathon

In May 2006, Yaeli and I embarked on a joint journey. The journey towards the Amsterdam Marathon finish line. We had about 5 months of training ahead of us, which would consist of 3-4 weekly runs, consuming hundreds of kilometers and many early morning starts. On October 15th 2006, we did it.

Passing the Time

We spent our remaining 2 days before the marathon walking around Amsterdam, shopping ang trying to relax before the big day.

Official Race Pictures

These pictures were taken just as we entered the Olympic stadium, after 42km of running. As can be seen, we are both pretty exhausted.

Crossing the Finish Line

In this video we can be seen crossing the finish line hand in hand. We appear after aprox. 45 seconds and cross the finish line after 53 seconds.

Here is our result graph. We ran aprox. 10.5 km\hr during most of the race, at times going up to 11 km\hr.
More important, we finished under 4 hours and fulfilled our goal!

A Word of Thanks

We cannot end this blog without some words of thanks:
To Gavin, our friend, mentor and coach, for guiding us all along and being there for us,
To Guy, our number one fan, for being our running buddy for all these months,
and to our parents, without whom this whole event could not take place.
See you in next marathon!
